The 9 Dot Puzzle - Reimagine the Possibilities
When Robert Bannister broke the 4-minute mile, he did what the world had previously thought was impossible. Despite the lack of encouragement and negativity he faced, Robert worked extremely hard and eventually reached his goals. Most remarkable though, was the fact that no runner had previously broken the 4 minute mile, yet for some reason, as soon as Robert Bannister broke that record, dozens of others runners followed suite and broke the record as well. How come for years no one broke the record but as soon as he broke it, so many others were able to? What changed? Until 1954, Robert and all the other runners had imposed limitations on themselves and believed that the record was unbeatable. As soon as Robert persevered and accomplished the impossible, the others were able to remove the imaginary walls and obstacles they placed around themselves, and accomplish as well. When J.P Guilford, a psychologist in the 1970's, created the 9 dot puzzle, he challenged the world to connect 9 dots using just four straight lines and without lifting the pencil form the paper. At first, it seemed unsolvable. How can 3 lines of 3 dots be connected with a mere four lines? And in fact, it can't. Unless of course, you stop limiting yourself by the confines of you imagination, by the confines of what society tells you are the rules of the game. Unless of course, you are willing to tell yourself that an answer is possible. Control your own destiny. Allow me to help you find creative solutions to your pressing business problems.
